Types of Sedation in White Plains and Mt. Kisco, NY
We offer three levels of sedation to increase patient comfort:
- Nitrous oxide, otherwise known as ‘laughing gas’, is easy to administer and helps patients that have a slight fear of dental treatment.
- Oral sedation involves prescribing Valium to ensure a good night’s sleep and Halcion or Versed right before the dental appointment to induce a state of relaxation. Oral sedation is appropriate for patients with mild to moderate levels of fear and anxiety.
- Intravenous sedation (White Plains, NY) administered by a Board Certified Anesthesiologist, involves administering drugs into the bloodstream. This works well for patients with special needs as it is the only form of sedation that can be customized (calibrated) for each patient.
